Catering
It is recommended that you bring in enough food and provisions for the duration of your stay at Little Pine Shack. There are supplies of food and general provisions at the Miena General Store at the Great Lake however the choice is limited and fresh produce is rare. If you are travelling from Devonport, Deloraine is a great place to stock up your provisions. Coming from Launceston, Longford has a well stocked IGA supermarket and if you are coming from Hobart there is a Coles and Woolworths supermarket on the way up to the Lakes at Bridgewater which is near Derwent Bridge.
For those wanting to eat out and do not want to cook there is a good selection of counter meals available at the nearby Great Lake Hotel or Great Lake Lodge.
What to bring
If you are fishing bring your own fishing gear, waders and all fly fishing requirements. As the weather can be extreme you should bring suitable warm and wet weather clothing.
Little Pine Lagoon is fly fishing water only. Spinning is allowed in nearby Great Lake. Waders may be hired upon request if available for a fee of $5.00 each per day.
