How to get there

Little Pine Shack is within a 1 kilometer of the geographical centre of Tasmania, and approximately 10 kilometers from The Great Lake at Miena.

From Hobart (160km about 2hr 15m) – Head north up the Midland Highway and turn left at Melton Mowbray into Lake Highway (62km) and head to the Great Lake via Bothwell. Little Pine Shack is approximately 10 south west of the Great Lake Hotel on the Marlborough Highway. From Launceston Airport (108km about 1 hr 50m)- Head south west via Evandale, Perth, Longford, Cressy then turn right onto Lake Highway proceed up the mountain, pass Arthurs Lake on the left and proceed to Great Lake.

From Devonport (127km about 1hr 55m) – Head east along Bass Highway and take the turn off to Deloraine then follow signposts to Lake Highway to the Great Lake.
